Data Management Lead

(Location: Dublin - Ireland)

Purpose of role:

The mission for the Data & Analytics (D&A) team is to enable and empower our partners across the business to use high impact data & analytics tools, technologies, and methodologies to drive business insights & improve business outcomes.

As a Data Management Lead, your key area of focus will be to design, develop and maintain modern scalable data solutions underpinned by a cohesive data management strategy.

Senior Data Practice Manager (Location: Dublin - Ireland)

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and Collaborate on Data Management

  • Define and implement data management capabilities and leading practices, aligned with Data & Analytics and business team priorities
  • Build & operationalise a cohesive data management strategy that will outline a roadmap that creates trust in data and delivers value in line with business strategy
  • Identify gaps in data availability and data management capability, and develop cross-functional plans to address gaps
  • Accountability for data management standards, processes and procedures
  • Work in collaboration with D&A colleagues, technology and business teams to design and implement modern, scalable data solutions using a range of new and emerging technologies
  • Provide technical and non-technical guidance on data management capabilities including Data Storage, Processing, Master and Reference Data Management, Data Quality Management, Metadata Management and Data Governance
  • Promote cross functional ways of working in support of Data Management initiatives ensuring adherence to standards and leading practices
Delivering the Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform
  • In collaboration with Data Architect Lead and Platforms & Engineering team input to the evolution of the Data & Analytics platform and advancement of the product suite based on current and potential business needs
  • Oversee the integration of new technologies and initiatives into data management standards and processes
  • Drive improvements in Data Management capabilities through platform and tool functionality based on partner product roadmaps and Data & Analytics strategy
Team Management
  • Lead a team of data management professionals and specialists with responsibility for data management capabilities and services underpinning the delivery of data products
  • Monitor the workload of Data Management team to ensure effective delivery of projects, key objectives, and desired outcomes
  • Maintain close relationship with vendors, technology teams, and other business teams to ensure existing and future needs can be delivered
Essential knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • A Bachelor or master's degree in a quantitative field (Operation Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math, Economics, Statistics, Analytics, Management/Business Information Systems (or related degree)
  • 8+ years of demonstrable experience in leading a Data Management programme along with Team Management & Leadership experience
  • Experience in designing and operationalising large scale high data volume environments
  • Broad knowledge base across Data and Analytics platforms and technologies for example Teradata, Tableau, Alteryx as well as cloud Data & Analytics Stacks e.g. Azure, AWS, languages such as Python, R, Spark and ETL tooling
  • Strong SQL skills desirable
  • Knowledge of developing Data Management team to ensure breadth of expertise and provide input on the resourcing and capability gaps we are likely to face in the future to cover our evolving data management needs
